- Has anyone out there gotten their Sportster Vi to send a fax through
- Procomm Plus for Windows, 2.11? I've been working with Datastorm tech.
- support (very good), and USR tech. support (disinterested) about the
- problem. It boils down to the fact that the modem works fantastic at data
- connections and receiving faxes, but it refuses to send one through
- Procomm. According to Datastorm, its a known problem that they are trying
- to work out with USR. They had me enter the following command:
- AT+FTS=8
- The Sportster returned ERROR on that. That's a standard Class 1 fax
- command meaning "Stop transmission and wait n/10's second". To me, that
- indicates a problem in the Sportster, if it has problems with a standard
- command.
- To confuse the issue, the Quicklink Message Center software packaged with
- the Sportster does send faxes. Because of this, USR says the problem is
- with Procomm, not the modem. I don't know what Quicklink is doing
- different, but the fact remains that the Sportster won't accept a valid
- Class 1 fax command (which evidently Procomm uses).
-
- Anyone had any luck sending faxes with this thing?
